a moment

Hello! Let me start with this one, in fact my blog came into being after deciding that this would be my first post. This post would have been up here a long time back, but some delays are better left unexplained.
This lamp was made for a friend as a birthday gift. When I decided that I would gift her a handmade lamp, more than to illuminate her room the hidden intention was to make her feel special.
I was lucky that she had to travel around that time (we meet almost twice a day), so I grabbed the opportunity and got on to work. Working in her absence really added spice to all the excitement! During that time, I had to depend on my friends for buying me all the material, but I really hoped the news did not leak to the her ears. After all, birthdays are best celebrated with some surprise element! Things like fevicol and thread were easy to get, but a balloon was a real nerve racker. Firstly it burst, and secondly the shopkeepers refused to keep a spare lot ( a prop master should have better known the importance of a spare property)! But finally I got one from a balloonseller in the nick of time. After having the balloon in place, blowing it, winding thread, applying fevicol all went fine, but I had to really cross my fingers for the drying part. Just like a good recipe, the secret ingrediant here was the sunlight, and the drying was very crucial for this mission! Yes, I should call it a 'mission'. To add to my misery, during that period, it looked as if God was trying to catch up with our the short-cut generation.. (all the 3 seasons in one day)! But thankfully, the sun that day shone bright and right and things worked well!
But what really worked for me, was the twinkle in her eye. Everything happened in succession. The surprise, the awe and the happiness..
I think, finally what remains with us are all these special 'moments'. This moment will remain with me. And also the fact that if you really want things to work, they do work!

At this moment the lamp is up there hanging in her room. Yes, just like it is up here.

Post op., a lot of things were lingering in my head. They were not necessarily some great ideas, but mostly everyday stuff, reactions, emotions, opinions and some moments too. I guess I was bottling them up, and they needed a way out. But in front of so many people! Well, yes may be. So in this blog I plan to share all the inspirations, aspirations, observations and thoughts that make me tick. And for its name, I think it would be the best, if my thoughts here appear just like the ‘shots’ - timely, and giving the desired effect!
